Exploring international systems & the role of big business.
While local economies reduce dependence on global systems, they don’t reject them outright. The goal is to rebalance the entire community, to remove exploitation & extraction by large corporations. We are aiming to use trade selectively to complement local growth & most importantly the health of the people in our own community. A growing localised economy engages with the global system on its own terms, with ethics & community prosperity in mind. ‹›
Strategy
Create indicators for success
eg: local ownership, job creation, resilience, environmental impact, etc.
= Host regular check-ins, open forums, & community feedback loops.
= Evolve the strategy as the community learns & grows.
Form alliances with other local economies to share knowledge, trade ethically, & build a larger movement.
Push for systemic change by demonstrating that localised systems can scale through networks, not centralisation.
