Build a Better World

My name is Stevey Chernishov

The reason we are all sitting here is because we are working to figure out how to run our own lives. 

One of the problems that we have, is that we have a lot of discontentment with the way the system currently runs. That is why a lot of Councillors are not standing again, & that’s why there is so much seriousness. 

One of the first things we need to do, is we need to lighten up a little bit & smile. We need to enjoy ourselves, & realise that actually the power comes back to the people. The situation that we are in where we need to have the people empowered. 

I feel to say to you that one of the big things that has been coming up over & over again in discussions (as I have been on tour [some of you may be aware that I am standing for Invercargill City Mayor, but I am also running for Councillor in Queenstown Lakes District, as well as Southland District Council). 

People are unhappy with the way things are going. They are unhappy with the way that the government has a top down approach. They are unhappy that it feels like the same decisions are being made around the world.

So, we have got a window of time right now. Where we can work with Council, & we have to try to figure our how, as these systems are being reformed that we take the next three years to set up your lives, & your businesses & your living situation the best we possibly can. You must realise that you are epic pioneers.
